October ’21 – Net Worth and monthly update #39 £796,840 (+£36,196) 108% FI

Covid hits the FU household again, with FU#4 falling ill with the virus just days after his 15th birthday.

He hasn’t been too badly affected though, only feeling poorly for a couple of days with a temperature and now slowly recovering. He must have felt ill as he didn’t even play on his Xbox.

We had a couple of family days out , including a trip to Malham cove, finishing the day with a well-deserved meal in Skipton.

We also attended the October Manchester FIRE meet-up, where we had a great night meeting both the regulars and new attendees.

Me and Mrs Fu have decided to have a dry November as our weekly date nights degenerated into twice-weekly date nights. That’s lifestyle inflation in action right there, along with the resultant waistline inflation.

Another fantastic month on the net worth front. I wonder how long this good run will last.

Overall Net Worth in October increased by £36k, due to a big rebound in my SIPP and lower liabilities as I paid off another loan.

Since we began tracking our net worth in June ’18, our net worth has increased by £382k, at an average of £9.5k per month.

 

Property

My house price YOY change +11.4%. (Q3 2020 – Q3 2021 NW England)

The Equity in my main home is £395,916.

Main home and rental property values are calculated using the Nationwide House price index.

Nationwide’s October ’21 update reports average UK house prices top quarter of a million pounds for the first time, and rose 0.7% in the month.

The UK annual % change in house prices is +9.9%, with a UK average house price of £250k.
