March ’22 – Net Worth and monthly update #44 £848,397 (+£40,295) 113% FI

This month, a big rebound in net worth recovers all the losses of the last couple of months.

The property market continues to rise despite global events, inflationary pressures, and the squeeze on household budgets due to rising interest rates and energy costs.

We’ve probably noticed inflation most in our food shopping, where everything seems to have gone up more than 25%, rather than the official inflation figure of around 8%.

We haven’t done anything special in March, apart from a few meals out and going to kid’s football matches. We did toy with the idea of going abroad and getting some sun in the Easter holidays but decided against it due to covid and vaccination rules still in place in most countries.

There was another online Manchester FIRE meetup that we attended this month on the topic of decumulation. It was an interesting talk and I continue to refine my ideas and thinking on my own decumulation plans as I learn more.
