February ’19 – Net worth and monthly update #7

February has come to an end and time for my monthly Net Worth update again.

It’s now only just over 4 weeks to our all-inclusive family holiday to Spain in April.

It’s also time to pull our touring caravan out of winter storage and put it onto our seasonal pitch that runs from March to October. We’re hoping for another summer of fantastic weather like we had last year that meant we got many great weekends away with the kids. February’s weather has been great but it looks like we are back to normal with the cold and rain making a return.

I was hoping to report a big pay rise for FU#1 now that he has finished his apprenticeship, but he only had his final assessment interview this week and it’s probably going to be sorted out mid-March now after he gets his official results next week. This is no problem and means we can get his finances sorted for the new tax year.

Little FU#2 has decided at the moment to continue on to her A levels after she finishes her GCSE’s, and has chosen the subjects she will study. We are still keeping an open mind on apprenticeships and watching out for opportunities that may arise.

Overall Net Worth has increased this month by £1,968.

This is due to my SIPP increasing by £742 and reducing my liabilities by £817.

Main home and rental property values are the same and will be updated when Q1 figures are available, calculated using the Nationwide House price index calculator.

SIPP Dividends paid Feb £32 – 2019 ytd £220,  Av. £110/m (2018 £1306,  Av. £108/m).

Other Monthly/weekly goals

Matched Betting  +£612 this month (+£492 last month)

Total to date since starting 16m ago £5633 (£5021 to last month) means we made £612 profit this month, broken down as follows.

Casino/slot offers to date £1622 (£1538) = £84 profit this month

Each way sniping to date £47 (£40) = £7 profit this month

Normal match betting offers £521 (£268) profit this month

Not so much luck on the slot offers this month but we made up for it on the normal daily match betting offers. We have still not embraced the EW sniping yet mainly due to time constraints with work etc.

Diet and Fitness – Lost another 2kg to go from 74kg to 72kg.  My fat percentage is at 18% down from 20% last month. My target for April is 70kg and/or 15% fat, or less.

I have managed to maintain my 3x running per week schedule ( 1 x beep test, 1 x 10k run, and playing 5 a side football for 1 hour a week).

My current time for 10k is 45:54 cutting nearly 2 minutes from last month (last month 47:52), and my target is still to get down to around 42 minutes. My 5k time was 21:55.

eBay/selling – Nothing much in February.

Thanks for reading.

Any comments/questions always welcome

10K in 45 minutes!? That is hugely impressive. I can barely run 5K in half an hour. As the weather improves, I have no excuse to not start doing some sort of running training.

How much time would you say you spend on the matched betting? I’ve been doing a few offers here and there, but I need to start hitting it harder to make anywhere near as much as you’ve made this month.

      Hi Dr FIRE

Thanks for the compliment. I find with running you’ve just got to set a fixed schedule of when to do it and get into the habit of doing it, as its to easy to make excuses not to go otherwise.

We probably spend an hour a day on average I would say on matched betting, but I have never really tracked my time on it. Sometimes I am motivated to do it and other times I cannot be bothered with it. It helps to have a partner to pick up the slack in those periods.

      Cheers

    Hi Mr Fu

Firstly, it was great to meet you and Mrs Fu the other evening!

Secondly, great going on the matched betting – I’m having a mixed month at moment, up one day, down another but hoping that Cheltenham will bring in some decent profits.

Great going on the diet and fitness – keep at it so that when you’re enjoying yourself on your holiday, there won’t be any guilt! Also, as Dr FIRE says, 10k in 45 mins is very impressive, well done!
